Celebrating Success: Mary Jo Parsley 🎉

A big congratulations to Mary Jo “MJ” Parsley, who has reached an incredible milestone! MJ joined The Renovo Center as an intern in 2021 and has since:
Completed her Master’s in Art Therapy.
Completed her provisional license and was issued her license as a Professional Counselor in October 2024.
Been awarded a STLR student loan forgiveness grant for providing 2 years of therapy services at a Licensed Behavioral Health Center.
The Statewide Therapist Loan Repayment (STLR) program, by the West Virginia Department of Human Services, offers financial assistance to mental health professionals. Master’s-level therapists can receive up to $35,000, while child psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners may qualify for $100,000 in student loan repayment for a two-year service commitment with eligible West Virginia employers. The program prioritizes professionals in recovery or with lived experience to support mental health needs across the state. Qualified employers include CCBHCs, OBMAT providers, LBHCs, and FQHCs. Awards depend on funding availability, with updates provided regularly, aiming to strengthen West Virginia’s behavioral health workforce and recovery efforts.
MJ has now completed her hours at The Renovo Center and is eagerly awaiting the distribution of her funds. We celebrate her achievement as a fully licensed Professional Counselor and her well-deserved reduction in student loans. Well done, MJ! đź‘Ź
